Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer / Project Administrator to lead Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services on FDOT, LAP, county, and municipal transportation projects across Florida.

The role involves project management, contract administration, construction oversight, QA, client coordination, and mentoring CEI staff as the primary contact among owner, contractor, and project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Florida Professional Engineer license within six months or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 5+ years of FDOT/Florida CEI experience.
• Experience leading CEI teams and managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Senior CEI Project Engineer and Project Administrator.
• Manage delivery, schedules, budgets, documentation, and staff assignments.
• Coordinate with FDOT, local agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specs, permits, and standards.
• Review pay apps, change orders, and submittals.
• Lead progress meetings and prepare reports.
• Oversee QA/QC and mentor inspectors.
• Coordinate closeout and as-builts.
