Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design and scale a new Content Delivery Network for Starlink. You will build robust distributed systems, create monitoring tools, and optimize traffic across multiple CDNs while contributing to architecture reviews and future concepts.

The role emphasizes performance, cost efficiency, and collaboration across a dynamic team as SpaceX expands its global internet offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related STEM field plus 5+ years of software development experience, or 7+ years in lieu of degree.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust.
• 3+ years in distributed systems or CDN design, building, or scaling.
• 3+ years of professional networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale a new CDN for Starlink.
• Develop robust, scalable distributed systems.
• Build tools, visibility, and monitoring to diagnose and operate critical systems in real time.
• Design algorithms to optimize hardware utilization and cost efficiency.
• Implement traffic-shaping across multiple CDNs and participate in architecture reviews.
• Develop prototypes and experiments to validate future concepts.
