Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a software engineer to design and scale a new Starlink Content Delivery Network. You will build robust distributed systems and contribute to architecture reviews while improving traffic management across multiple CDNs.

The role emphasizes solving complex networking challenges and optimizing hardware use, with opportunities to prototype future concepts for Starlink. On-site work in Hawthorne, CA is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or STEM OR 2+ years of software development experience.
• Software development experience in C, C++, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale a new Content Delivery Network (CDN) for Starlink.
• Build robust, responsive, and scalable distributed systems.
• Build the necessary tools, visibility, and alerting mechanisms for real-time operation.
• Design algorithms to understand and optimize hardware utilization and cost efficiency.
• Implement systems which shape traffic across multiple CDNs.
• Lead architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Develop prototypes and experiments for future Starlink concepts.
