Job summary

Duluth Trading Company is seeking a Merchant to develop and execute category strategies and manage day-to-day performance of the category from our headquarters near Madison, WI. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver against financial and product goals and to optimize pricing, promotions, and assortments.

You will oversee planning, pricing, catalog merchandising, and pre-season road mapping while mentoring a direct report and driving category growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business, or related field
• Equivalent work experience will be considered
• 5+ years of experience
• 1+ years of Management experience
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office & Google Workspace
• Strong understanding of competition and assortment optimization
• Ability to present to Senior, VP, and Executive level management
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy across all business-critical data
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category-level strategies aligned to department and brand objectives.
• Manage day-to-day performance of the category and optimize assortments.
• Analyze market trends, drive pricing and promotions, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Present weekly performance and inform leadership with clear insights.
• Lead assortment planning, color counts, and product flow for own category.
• Partner with planning on future season sales and read/react cycles.
• Mentor and develop direct reports and drive cross-functional collaborations.
• Ensure SOX-compliant documentation and inventory strategy understanding.
