Job summary

Acosta is seeking a Category Analyst to support the sales team with data-driven insights and category management recommendations. This hybrid role requires three in-office days per week in Idaho/Boise and offers collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams to drive item performance and assortment planning.

You will leverage retailer POS data and Circana/IRI tools, craft compelling presentations, and translate analytics into actionable strategies that align with client KPIs and campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years related experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Windows and Excel, PowerPoint, VB, and macros.
• Experience with syndicated data and/or space management tools.
• Clear and concise communication of relevant information.
• Ability to diagnose situations using relevant data to identify solutions.
• Capability to conduct data mining using CPG math concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical analysis, insights, and recommendations for category management projects and initiatives utilizing retailer POS and Circana (IRI) data sources and reporting tools.
• System tools required: Retailer POS, Circana (IRI)/NielsenIQ
• Strong analytics, insights, presentation, and storytelling skills
• Participate in the development of category presentations incorporating syndicated data and other sources of data that address business issues
• Work closely with CPG Category Management and Space Technology teams to ensure quality results are delivered
• Keep abreast of client’s KPIs, strategies, innovation, and other important information.
• Leverage relationships with clients to understand key retailer deliverables, category strategies, and project timelines.
• Category Analyst/Manager Certification is a plus.
