Job summary

Howden Group Holdings is seeking an Associate Director for the Catastrophe Analytics team to help Howden Re manage catastrophe risk using advanced modeling, data prep, and visualization. You will translate model outputs into actionable client insights and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires 4+ years in catastrophe modeling, strong data tools skills (SQL, Excel, R, Python, Power BI, ArcGIS), and familiarity with Touchstone/RMS RiskLink.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in catastrophe modeling and risk management.
• Proficient in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization tools and languages such as SQL, Excel, R, Python, Power BI, and ArcGIS.
• Experience with cat modeling software (e.g. Verisk Touchstone, RMS RiskLink) and understanding of model methods, uses, and limitations.
• Knowledge of property insurance and reinsurance; ARe designation is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a results-driven environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Execute all aspects of catastrophe modeling including data prep, portfolio analysis, and postprocessing.
• Report results, visualize data, and map outputs for stakeholders.
• Address queries on property exposure data, real-time cat events, model validation, and risk views.
• Use proprietary software to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs.
• Improve analytical processes for efficiency and client impact.
• Establish strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and reinsurers.
