Job summary

Howden North America is seeking an Associate Director to lead catastrophe analytics in Edina. You will drive catastrophe modeling from data prep to reporting, interpret outputs, and communicate insights to clients and internal teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and delivering innovative risk solutions. Applicants should have 4+ years in catastrophe modeling, strong data skills in SQL/Excel/R/Python/Power BI, and knowledge of property reinsurance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in catastrophe modeling and risk management.
• Proficiency in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization tools and languages.
• Knowledge of property insurance and reinsurance; ARe designation a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to explain technical concepts.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a quantitative field.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Execute catastrophe modeling from data prep to postprocessing and visualization.
• Respond to stakeholder queries on property exposure data and real-time events.
• Communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences and vendors.
• Design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs using proprietary software.
• Improve analytical processes for efficiency and client results.
