Job summary

Howden North America is seeking an Associate Director on the Catastrophe Analytics team to advise Howden Re clients on catastrophe risk. The role requires experience with catastrophe models, data analysis, and communicating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

You will collaborate with a best-in-class analytics group delivering innovative solutions in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include data prep, portfolio analysis, reporting, visualization, and developing reinsurance

Qualifications

4+ years experience in catastrophe modeling and risk management.
High level of proficiency in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization tools and languages (SQL, Excel, R, Python, Power BI, ArcGIS).
Experience with catastrophe modeling software (Verisk Touchstone, RMS RiskLink) and understanding of model methodologies.

Responsibilities

Execute all aspects of catastrophe modeling including data preparation, validation, portfolio analysis and postprocessing.
Report results, perform data visualization and mapping for internal and client use.
Address queries from stakeholders on exposure data, real-time events, model validation and risk views.
Design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs using proprietary software.
Improve analytical processes for greater client outcomes.
Build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and reinsurers.
