Job summary

Howden Re, a global reinsurance broker and risk advisor, is seeking a Director to lead catastrophe analytics. You will collaborate with colleagues to advise clients on catastrophe risk, interpret outputs from catastrophe models, and apply insights to develop innovative solutions in a results-driven environment.

The role requires 8+ years in catastrophe modeling, strong data skills (SQL, Python, R, Excel, Power BI), knowledge of cat modeling software, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in catastrophe modeling and risk management
• Proficiency in data analysis, manipulation and visualization
• Experience with cat modeling software (Verisk Touchstone, RMS RiskLink) and understanding of model methods

Responsibilities

• Execute catastrophe modeling including data prep, portfolio analysis and reporting
• Respond to queries on property exposure data and cat risk topics
• Use proprietary software to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs
• Improve analytical processes for better client results
• Establish strong relationships with colleagues, clients and reinsurers
