Job summary

Auto Club Enterprises in the United States seeks a Claims Senior Casualty Adjuster to handle moderately high complexity property, bodily injury and liability claims. You will investigate liability, evaluate coverages, negotiate settlements, and manage claim files under established authority and procedures.

The role requires extensive claims experience, strong insurance knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 7-9 years preferred in claims handling or related
• 4-6 years in Property/Auto/Casualty claims administration preferred
• Strong knowledge of claims administration practices and procedures
• Knowledge of insurance, fault assessment, negligence and subrogation principles
• Understanding of building and vehicle repair procedures and third-party liability
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claims software
• Excellent oral and written communication, organization and planning
• Leadership abilities and teamwork in a professional setting
• Valid driver's license and clean DMV record; appropriate state licensing may be required
• American Institute CPCU or equivalent credentials preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to determine liability and damages
• Attend legal proceedings as needed
• Obtain statements from insureds, claimants and witnesses
• Explain benefits, coverages and claims process clearly
• Evaluate and determine claim values for property, bodily injury and liability data
• Negotiate within authority to settle first and third party claims
• Update claim files and databases (CACS, HUON, HOC, Guidewire)
• Coordinate with internal/external departments to resolve claims
• Respond promptly to customer needs and resolve claims within authority
