Job summary

RLI seeks a seasoned claims professional to manage NY Casualty GL and commercial excess liability large loss claims. You will assess coverages, investigate promptly, and establish reserves per RLI Best Practices.

The candidate typically holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration or insurance with 8+ years of relevant experience (JD with insurance defense optional). Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field; 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance experience.
• Experience handling complex GL and commercial excess liability claims, including outside counsel management.
• Knowledge of New York Construction/Labor Law statutes impacting claims handling.

Responsibilities

• Handle New York Casualty GL and commercial excess liability large loss claims proactively.
• Assess coverage issues and issue letters/documentation within required timeframe.
• Complete timely investigation and set appropriate reserves.
• Proactively manage outside counsel on litigated claims.
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices.
