Job summary

WEX is seeking a Senior Team Leader to oversee the Cash Application team, ensuring accurate and timely application of customer payments, strong compliance, and risk mitigation. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on process optimization across receivables and treasury interfaces.

You will drive close processes, collaborate with Receivables, Customer Service, and external auditors, and mentor a growing team.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of proven senior leadership experience in finance-related fields.
• 7+ years of financial experience in Accounts Receivable, banking, Accounts Payable, or another applicable area.
• 1-3 years of experience in managing high-level financial processes and teams.
• Must successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely application of payments received from customers to receivable accounts with advanced leadership.
• Collaborate with Receivables, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to resolve issues with postings or misapplied cash.
• Lead and manage close processes and reporting with higher level oversight (daily, monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Coordinate with WEX Bank and Accounting to ensure integration with General Ledger and journals.
• Design and implement processes with controls to mitigate financial risk while ensuring accuracy.
• Identify and drive automation opportunities, partnering with functions to implement changes.
• Respond to financial information requests from internal/external stakeholders and auditors with detail.
• Oversee onboarding/integration of subsidiaries and acquisitions, ensuring policy compliance.
