Job summary

WEX is seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to lead the Cash Applications function within the Factoring unit. You will drive strategic plans, optimize payment workflows, and ensure strong audit controls while building high-performing teams.

You will mentor managers, monitor KPIs and SLAs, and collaborate with IT, Collections, Processing, and Underwriting to align operations with business goals. The role emphasizes change management and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• BS in Business is required.
• 5+ years leading teams in high-volume Cash Applications or Financial Operations (Factoring experience required).
• Strong analytical capability and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for the Cash Applications department to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across Factoring operations.
• Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs and SLAs, ensuring alignment with department standards.
• Lead, mentor, and empower team leaders and specialists, fostering growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex cash allocations and high-value payment disputes.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to streamline cash posting.
• Design and maintain internal control frameworks to support audit requirements and mitigate risk.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Collections, Processing, Portfolio, Underwriting, and IT for end-to-end alignment.
• Manage workforce planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and performance evaluation.
