Job summary

County of Lancaster is seeking a supervisor to oversee four aging program assessors, monitor workloads, and ensure timely Federal Eligibility Determinations and OBRA assessments for adults seeking various levels of care.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with the Lancaster County Assistance Office, and maintaining related databases. Travel for home visits is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education, which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Screens, assigns, and monitors referrals in PIA system and internal/external referrals. Sends OBRA reviews; completes priority desk reviews as needed.
• Provides supervision and training to aging program assessors to ensure appropriate levels of care and timely completion of assessments.
• Acts as primary liaison with the Lancaster County Assistance Office and maintains oversight of databases for recertification data.
• Establishes positive relationships with hospitals, nursing facilities, physicians, and other stakeholders to facilitate the assessment process.
• Requires occasional use of own transportation for home visits and meetings.

Education

Bachelor's degree with major coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Equivalent combination of experience and education (12 credits in related social sciences)
