Job summary

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, seeks a Sr. Network Engineer to lead carrier network ops and security initiatives in a contract-to-hire role in Overland Park, KS. Expect BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS/SR-MPLS, firewalls, VPNs, and cyber threat defense, plus Linux, Python, and APIs.

You’ll work with Ciena platforms and SR‑MPLS, applying network automation tools such as Ansible, NETCONF/RESTCONF and SIEM for protection and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in network engineering with carrier / service provider exposure.
• Hands-on with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS/SR-MPLS; vendor-neutral problem solving.
• Strong cybersecurity operations: logs, vuln mgmt, incident response.
• Linux systems administration; scripting in Python or Bash; APIs.
• Experience with Ciena gear and SR-MPLS networks.
• Familiar with Ansible, NETCONF, RESTCONF and SIEM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize carrier network operations and security programs.
• Troubleshoot and harden networks, implement segmentation and access controls.
• Collaborate on policy development and incident response simulations.
