Job summary

INDATEL Services, LLC is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to own the security posture of carrier networks and internal systems. The role spans routing, firewall policy, incident response, and Linux tooling with opportunities for automation and cross‑functional projects.

You will work in a small, hands-on team handling day‑to‑day network operations, service delivery, and security initiatives, including SR‑MPLS deployments and NIST CSF aligned efforts. Remote/onsite options may vary by project.

Qualifications

• 3+ years (Engineer II) or 5+ years (Engineer III) of hands-on network engineering experience.
• Solid routing and switching fundamentals: BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS/SR‑MPLS, carrier Ethernet.
• Experience administering firewalls, VPNs, and network access controls.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity operations: log analysis, incident response, vulnerability management.
• Linux administration on common distros (RHEL/Rocky, Debian/Ubuntu).
• Scripting in Python or Bash; APIs for automation and provisioning.
• Strong documentation and customer-facing communication.
• Carrier or service provider background; rural broadband/ILEC is a plus.
• Experience with Ciena platforms and SR‑MPLS deployments.
• SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint security tools familiarity.
• Network automation with Ansible, NETCONF/RESTCONF; Netmiko/NAPALM libraries.

Responsibilities

• Network Engineering & Operations: provision, test, and support Ethernet and IP/MPLS services.
• Administer firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation for carrier and corporate networks.
• Cybersecurity: monitor, triage, and respond to security events; incident response.
• Systems, Linux & Automation: manage Linux tooling, scripting, and automation tasks.
• Special Projects: lead or support network upgrades, migrations, and new service rollouts.
