Job summary

Wexford House is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to provide direct care and support to residents, assist with activities of daily living, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. This role demands empathy, attention to detail, and a commitment to preserving residents' dignity and independence.

You will collaborate with nursing staff, monitor residents' well-being, help with meals and mobility, and support engagement in community activities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; PCA/CNA or caregiver training preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in personal care, senior living, or healthcare preferred.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; compassionate and patient.
• Physical: Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and mobility support.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility.
• Provide meal support, hydration, and feeding assistance.
• Monitor health, report changes to nursing staff, and assist with medication reminders.
• Encourage resident engagement, social activities, and ensure safety/compliance.
