Job summary

Active Day is seeking a Program Assistant to help plan and facilitate therapeutic recreational programs, support members with daily living activities, and assist with meals in a caring, uplifting center. The role emphasizes safety, positivity, and teamwork to enhance the health and happiness of members and caregivers.

You will work with seniors and adults with special needs, assist with activities, and contribute to a clean, organized environment while following policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred or a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
• At least one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Prior experience working seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.).
• Assist in the planning and facilitation of creative and diverse therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.
• Serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
• Observe members for change in condition or unusual occurrences. Escalate concerns as appropriate.
