Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking an Activities Director to lead our activities team in a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, and experienced in managing a healthcare activities program; the shift is 9am-5pm and a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field is preferred.

Candidates must have prior management experience, a driving license, and the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate resident-centered activities with strong collaboration among staff,

Qualifications

• Must understand activity practices and relevant long-term care regulations.
• Prior management, supervisory, or leadership experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Bachelor's degree or 90-hour course for activity professionals and continuing education.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Ability to interact tactfully with staff, residents, families, and the public.
• Ability to plan, organize, and conduct activities.
• Willingness to adopt new methods and methods into practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate resident-centered activities as needed.
• Involve residents in planning individualized programs and advocate for their needs and rights.
• Participate in resident, family, and department meetings as required.
• Maintain records and reports related to activities.
• May participate in fundraising events.
• Promote relationships with community organizations through outings and volunteers.
• Identify need for disciplinary action as required.
