Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat clients with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. You will develop individualized treatment plans and provide services across post-acute, long-term care, and home health settings when applicable.

The role requires state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist; CFY or CCC is preferred for Sanford Health Facility work.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech-Language Pathologist.
• When working at a Sanford Health Facility: holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or CFY in progress.
• May require valid driver’s license.
• Obtains and maintains required competencies and certifications; Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within first 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech and language evaluations, tests or examinations.
• Develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses.
• Provides speech and language services and monitors disease progression.
• Instructs clients in practicing therapeutic exercises and provides consultation.
• Ensures compliance with standards, policies and quality requirements.
• May supervise assistants, aides and students.
• Provide ongoing education and training to peers in area of expertise.
