Job summary

Powdersville Post Acute is seeking a dependable Cook to join our dietary team in Easley, SC. The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary needs while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and supporting daily operations in the kitchen.

The position requires 1 year of cooking experience in healthcare settings, knowledge of therapeutic diets, and ServSafe certification or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year cooking experience in a hospital, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions and special diets as prescribed.
• Serve food in appropriate portions and maintain sanitation.
• Prepare pureed and modified-consistency diets accurately.
• Record and monitor food temperatures to ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food prep area.
• Assist with meal service and tray preparation as needed.
• Clean cooking equipment, carts, and workstations.
• Follow infection control procedures and sanitize correctly.
• Monitor food quality and resident satisfaction; report concerns.
