Job summary

Powdersville Post Acute is seeking an experienced Cook to join our dietary team in Easley, SC. The Cook will prepare nutritious meals for residents, follow dietary restrictions, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment within a 60-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.

The position offers competitive pay of $16-$18/hour, with benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, PTO and a 401(k) with company match, and opportunities for CNA training and career advancement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year cooking experience in a hospital, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care environment.
• ServSafe certification required or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions.
• Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Ensure meals meet physician-ordered dietary restrictions and special dietary needs.
• Prepare and serve food in appropriate portions.
• Prepare pureed and modified-consistency diets accurately.
• Record and monitor food temperatures to ensure food safety compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.
• Assist with meal service and tray preparation as needed.
• Clean cooking equipment, serving carts, and workstations.
• Maintain proper sanitizer solutions and follow infection control procedures.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and resident satisfaction.
• Report resident concerns and dietary issues to nursing leadership and administration.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Ensure all cleaning schedules and sanitation standards are followed.
• Work cooperatively with all departments to provide excellent resident care.
