Job summary

Orchard Healthcare Group in Thornton is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead and support a dedicated care team, delivering high-quality care and enabling residents to maintain independence with dignity.

You will oversee care plans, monitor wellbeing, administer medications, and collaborate with families and healthcare professionals to ensure compassionate, compliant care around the clock.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential).
• Experience in elderly care or dementia support.
• Confident leader with strong supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the care team to deliver high-quality care.
• Administer medication safely and accurately.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and update care records.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals and families.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll play a key leadership role within our care team. You’ll be responsible for assessing individual needs, developing person-centred care plans, and ensuring that medical, physical, and emotional support is delivered to the highest standard. You’ll also supervise and mentor care staff, helping them grow and maintain best practices.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supporting the care team to deliver high-quality care

• Qualified to Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential)

Thornton Hall & Lodge is a bright and spacious purpose-built home that specialises in care for older people, with the Hall providing 24hr residential care for 48 residents, and the Lodge giving additional round the clock dementia care for 48 residents.
