Job summary

The Queens Public Library seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex capital construction and major renovations, reporting to the Vice President of Capital Projects Management. You will steward projects from front-end planning through design and construction, coordinating with internal units, external stakeholders, and city agencies to ensure safe, on-time delivery within budget.

Responsibilities include negotiating scope with NYC DDC, developing detailed budgets, and guiding project teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field with relevant experience.
• Minimum 6 years in construction or project management for public or commercial work.
• Supervisory experience of project teams or engineers.
• Valid driver’s license for site travel and access.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Act as owner's representative for QPL projects with NYC DDC oversight.
• Develop scope, milestones, budgets, and cost estimates for capital initiatives.
• Review plans to ensure compliance with NYC and library standards.
• Track progress with metrics and ensure on-schedule delivery.
• Maintain auditable project records and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare bi-weekly status updates for stakeholders.
• Mitigate bottlenecks with cost-effective solutions.
