Job summary

Celanese is seeking a Principal Engineer, Major Capital Projects to lead high-impact capital investments across our manufacturing network. You will oversee projects from concept through startup, coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver operational value and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, project management or capital project execution.
• Experience leading major capital projects ranging from $2M to $50M USD.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from initiation through startup and closeout (FEL, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
• Serve as overall project leader for scope, cost, schedule, safety, quality and performance.
• Develop execution strategies, resource plans and contracting approaches aligned with business objectives.
• Maintain scope, cost estimates, schedules, risk registers and project controls processes.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, maintenance, procurement, construction and specialists.
