Job summary

Graham Packaging is seeking a Capital Project Engineer to lead scope development, cost estimation, and execution of capital projects in a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to define equipment needs, develop layouts, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, 7+ years in manufacturing, CAD for layouts (AutoCAD preferred), and willingness to travel 75%+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology.
• 7+ years manufacturing operations experience leading or owning the manufacturing process.
• Capital project management experience.
• CAD experience with manufacturing layouts (AutoCAD preferred).

Responsibilities

• Define project scopes and create cost estimates for manufacturing equipment.
• Execute and supervise projects; oversee contractors and safety standards.
• Create and update plant layouts as part of equipment estimates.
• Perform utility and infrastructure analysis to support new equipment.
• Establish and improve equipment standards and specifications.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and tools.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to justify upgrades.
• Oversee maintenance of plant layouts and infrastructure databases.
