Job summary

Graham Packaging is seeking a dynamic Capital Project Engineer to lead scopes, cost estimates and execution of new manufacturing projects, with focus on plastic packaging equipment and layout optimization.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations, supervise contractors, and drive improvements while traveling extensively (75%+). The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 7+ years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 7+ years in manufacturing operations.
• Capital project management experience.
• CAD experience with Manufacturing Layouts (AutoCAD Preferred).
• Electrical & Mechanical systems knowledge for production equipment.
• Experience with plastics manufacturing and bottle handling lines.
• Experience developing project scopes and cost estimates.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis.
• Travel over 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Define project scopes and create cost estimates for manufacturing equipment.
• Execute and supervise assigned projects; oversee contractors and schedules.
• Create and update plant layouts and equipment estimates.
• Perform utility and infrastructure analysis for new equipment needs.
• Establish and improve equipment standards and specifications.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and tools.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to justify upgrades.
• Oversee maintenance of plant layouts and infrastructure databases.
