Unified Theory is seeking a Senior Capital Project Manager to lead large-scale capital projects across planning through implementation for manufacturing and industrial facilities. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (completed before start).
  • 10+ years in engineering/manufacturing/industrial operations with 4+ years of PM experience.
  • Experience managing cross-functional capital projects from concept to implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of FEL, governance, risk, procurement, and project controls.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams and client/contractor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of large-scale capital projects, managing FEL studies, schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Develop competitive bidding strategies and contractor selection processes.
  • Set equipment performance criteria to support safe, reliable operations.
  • Establish schedule and cost controls, forecasting, variance analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior project managers and collaborate with teams, sites, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure designs meet codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery and support business growth.
  • Support business development via client relationships, scoping, and proposals.

As a Senior Capital Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering complex capital projects that make a lasting impact. Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams, you will guide projects from planning through implementation, build strong partnerships, mentor talented professionals, and help drive successful outcomes for manufacturing and industrial facilities.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale and complex capital projects by managing Front End Loading (FEL) studies, project schedules, budgets, construction activities, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide leadership on developing competitive bidding strategies, including bid evaluation and contractor selection, to ensure cost-effective and high-quality project results.
  • Establish equipment performance requirements and engineering design criteria to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Establish and maintain robust schedule and cost control processes, including forecasting, progress tracking, variance analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with project teams, site leadership, contractors, and stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to multidisciplinary teams while mentoring and developing junior project managers
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, guidelines, and company requirements so that all designs and project activities meet regulatory, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, enhance operational performance, and support business growth initiatives
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client relationship management, project scoping, proposal development, and strategic planning activities
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial operations, or other process-based industries with 4 years of project management experience
  • Prior experience with industrial processes and equipment in a heavy industrial or advanced manufacturing sector
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple complex, cross-functional capital projects from concept through final implementation
  • Strong understanding of Front End Loading (FEL), project governance, risk management, procurement, construction management, and project controls
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing relationships with clients, contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and operational stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, scope, and performance metrics within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering design and project management tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, SAP, Solidworks, NX or similar systems

For Minnesota residents: The pay range for this position is $100,280-$138,000 (with flexibility DOQ). The range displayed on this job posting reflects salaries for the position based in our Minnesota location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by specific work location and additional factors, including education, experience, credentials, and job-related skills.
