Job summary

Unified Theory, Inc. is seeking a Senior Capital Project Manager to lead planning and execution of large-scale capital projects for manufacturing and industrial facilities.

You will guide projects from concept through implementation, mentor teams and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory alignment. You'll manage budgets, schedules, and procurement, develop bidding strategies, and collaborate with clients, site leadership, and vendors to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial operations or process-based industries with 4 years in project management.
  • Experience with industrial processes and equipment in heavy industrial or advanced manufacturing.
  • Proven success in managing multiple complex cross-functional capital projects from concept to implementation.
  • Strong understanding of Front End Loading (FEL), governance, risk management, procurement, construction management and project controls.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing relationships with clients, contractors, engineering firms, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, scope and performance metrics in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with design and PM tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, SAP, Solidworks, NX or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of large-scale capital projects, managing FEL studies, schedules, budgets, construction activities and resources.
  • Develop competitive bidding strategies including bid evaluation and contractor selection.
  • Set equipment performance requirements and design criteria for safe, reliable operations.
  • Maintain robust schedule and cost control processes with forecasting, tracking, variance analysis and corrective actions.
  • Foster communication with project teams, site leadership, contractors and stakeholders across all phases.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior managers.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and company requirements for safety and regulatory alignment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, operational performance and business growth.
  • Support business development through client relations, scoping, proposals and strategic planning.

As a Senior Capital Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering complex capital projects that make a lasting impact. Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams, you will guide projects from planning through implementation, build strong partnerships, mentor talented professionals, and help drive successful outcomes for manufacturing and industrial facilities.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale and complex capital projects by managing Front End Loading (FEL) studies, project schedules, budgets, construction activities, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide leadership on developing competitive bidding strategies, including bid evaluation and contractor selection, to ensure cost-effective and high-quality project results.
  • Establish equipment performance requirements and engineering design criteria to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Establish and maintain robust schedule and cost control processes, including forecasting, progress tracking, variance analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with project teams, site leadership, contractors, and stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to multidisciplinary teams while mentoring and developing junior project managers
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, guidelines, and company requirements so that all designs and project activities meet regulatory, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, enhance operational performance, and support business growth initiatives
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client relationship management, project scoping, proposal development, and strategic planning activities
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial operations, or other process-based industries with 4 years of project management experience
  • Prior experience with industrial processes and equipment in a heavy industrial or advanced manufacturing sector
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple complex, cross-functional capital projects from concept through final implementation
  • Strong understanding of Front End Loading (FEL), project governance, risk management, procurement, construction management, and project controls
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing relationships with clients, contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and operational stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, scope, and performance metrics within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering design and project management tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, SAP, Solidworks, NX or similar systems

For Minnesota residents: The pay range for this position is $100,280-$138,000 (with flexibility DOQ). The range displayed on this job posting reflects salaries for the position based in our Minnesota location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by specific work location and additional factors, including education, experience, credentials, and job-related skills.
