Job summary

Unified Theory is seeking a Senior Capital Project Manager to shape and deliver complex capital projects across manufacturing and industrial facilities. You will lead from planning through implementation, guide projects, build strong partnerships with clients and cross-functional teams, and mentor junior professionals.

You’ll manage FEL studies, schedules and budgets, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with site leadership, contractors, and stakeholders to drive successful

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science.
  • 10+ years in engineering, manufacturing or process-based industries with 4+ years in PM.
  • Experience with heavy industrial or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects from concept to implementation.
  • Strong FEL understanding, governance, risk management and project controls.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client/contractor relationships.
  • Proficient with engineering design and PM tools (AutoCAD, MS Project, SAP, SolidWorks, NX).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards and company requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and support business growth.
  • Support business development through client relationships, scoping and proposals.

Job description

As a Senior Capital Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering complex capital projects that make a lasting impact. Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams, you will guide projects from planning through implementation, build strong partnerships, mentor talented professionals, and help drive successful outcomes for manufacturing and industrial facilities.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale and complex capital projects by managing Front End Loading (FEL) studies, project schedules, budgets, construction activities, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide leadership on developing competitive bidding strategies, including bid evaluation and contractor selection, to ensure cost-effective and high-quality project results.
  • Establish equipment performance requirements and engineering design criteria to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Establish and maintain robust schedule and cost control processes, including forecasting, progress tracking, variance analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with project teams, site leadership, contractors, and stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to multidisciplinary teams while mentoring and developing junior project managers
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, guidelines, and company requirements so that all designs and project activities meet regulatory, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, enhance operational performance, and support business growth initiatives
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client relationship management, project scoping, proposal development, and strategic planning activities
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial operations, or other process-based industries with 4 years of project management experience
  • Prior experience with industrial processes and equipment in a heavy industrial or advanced manufacturing sector
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple complex, cross-functional capital projects from concept through final implementation
  • Strong understanding of Front End Loading (FEL), project governance, risk management, procurement, construction management, and project controls
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing relationships with clients, contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and operational stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, scope, and performance metrics within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering design and project management tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, SAP, Solidworks, NX or similar systems

For Minnesota residents: The pay range for this position is $100,280-$138,000 (with flexibility DOQ). The range displayed on this job posting reflects salaries for the position based in our Minnesota location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by specific work location and additional factors, including education, experience, credentials, and job‑related skills.
