Job summary

The Colorado Genetics Laboratory (CGL), Department of Pathology, is seeking a full-time technologist at the intermediate or senior level to join our clinical cytogenetics team. This position performs complex cytogenomic testing including chromosome analysis, FISH, CMA, and prenatal to oncology testing to support diagnostic evaluation.

The successful candidate participates in quality control and quality assurance activities, supports development of new testing methodologies, and reviews cases

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences and 1 year cytogenetics experience.
• ASCP Clinical Cytogenetics (CG) eligible or CG certification.
• Senior Professional requires 2 years of cytogenetics experience and CG certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform oncology chromosome analysis and may participate in constitutional chromosome analysis, FISH scoring, and CMA testing.
• Prepare high-quality digitized images of karyotypes and FISH specimens and summarize case findings.
• Prepare standardized case interpretations for reviewers and Laboratory Directors; participate in proficiency testing and regulatory compliance.
• Review completed case analyses for accuracy and adherence to standards; preview test requests to ensure appropriate test selection.
