Job summary

Seattle Colleges is hiring a Recreation and Athletics Specialist 4 for the Mitchell Activity Center. This full-time, on-site role manages group and individual recreation activities, budgets, and facility operations.

The position directs staff and seasonal workers, with a typical schedule Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, and occasional evenings/weekends as needed. Under supervision of the Director, you will help plan and monitor programs, supervise staff, coordinate with departments, and create

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreation, kinesiology, exercise science, physical education, athletic administration, or a closely related field.
• 4+ years of full-time recreation experience (or 2+ years at graduate level).
• One year of administrative experience supporting program or facility operations.
• Specialized expertise in fitness and recreation, including leading activity programs that increase participation across diverse student groups.
• Strong customer-service skills with interpersonal and supervisory abilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and inclusive program design.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and manages sports and recreational activities for diverse populations in coordination with student committees and clubs.
• Manages ancillary services such as personal training and fitness programming.
• Oversees a multi-program system including intramural sports, Esports, or campus recreation activities.
• Manages group exercise class schedules and evaluates staff performance.
• Collaborates with departments to design and deliver recreation programming for Seattle Central College and MAC members.
