Job summary

StenTech, Inc. in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Senior CAM Programmer with extensive 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC experience to lead machining strategies and tooling implementation. You will develop complex CNC programs, create setup docs, and mentor junior staff in a Lean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include optimizing cycles, validating tooling choices, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to advance our manufacturing standards. On-site role with full benefits included.

Qualifications

• 7+ years CNC machining and CAM programming experience.
• Extensive experience programming 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Experience with CNC setup and machining operations.
• Experience machining aluminum, steels, stainless steels, exotic alloys, plastics and composites.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete CNC programs for complex machined components utilizing GibbsCAM.
• Program and optimize 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers.
• Develop machining strategies from engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Create setup documentation and manufacturing instructions.
• Determine efficient machining sequences and operations.
• Select and implement optimal cutting tools, tool holders, work holding, and machining strategies.
• Research and evaluate new tooling technologies and machining methods.
• Optimize feeds, speeds, tool engagement, cycle time, and tool life.
• Troubleshoot production machining issues and provide technical support to machinists.
• Mentor junior programmers and machinists.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement projects.
