Job summary

Lucid Motors seeks an experienced Technical Specialist, CAE Crashworthiness to lead structural crash simulations and provide design guidance across the engineering team.

You will build high-fidelity CAE models from CAD data, run analyses for frontal, side, rear, and pedestrian protection, and communicate results with stakeholders. Strong LS-DYNA, Python, and CATIA experience are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in full vehicle crashworthiness CAE for an automotive OEM or equivalent
• Knowledge of global regulatory and consumer safety requirements: FMVSS, UNECE, USNCAP, IIHS, Euro NCAP, China NCAP etc.
• Strong analytical skills to draw meaningful conclusions from CAE results
• Root causing test performance and correlation of CAE models
• Ability to concisely present technical issues, CAE results, findings and next steps
• Experience with CAD, CATIA is a plus

Responsibilities

• Execute simulations to evaluate full vehicle structural crashworthiness for various impacts
• Generate design recommendations with engineering teams
• Assist with building a high-fidelity CAE model from CAD data
• Create analysis reports and communicate program status
• Participate in post-test teardowns to correlate CAE with tests
• Conduct DOE/DFSS studies using optimization tools within design constraints
• Help create standard work procedures for reliable models and results
• Lead/mentor junior engineers
