Job summary

STV Incorporated in Boston is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician to support the Transportation Group, setting up templates, enforcing standards, and preparing drawings and maps for major transportation projects in our Boston office.

You will collaborate with a production team, review models for coordination issues, and apply a wide range of CAD/BIM tools including AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud and ProjectWise to deliver accurate designs on schedule.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience with Transportation Agencies.
• Must be versatile utilizing several CAD/BIM software and cloud-based platforms, especially Autodesk and Bentley products such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, MicroStation, ProjectWise, OpenBridge, OpenBuildings, Revit Plan & Detail Development & Presentation.

Responsibilities

• Setting up project templates and file structures compliant with project/client CAD standards.
• Monitoring and enforcing project standards compliance, file organization, best practices, and modeling errors.
• Preparing drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs with occasional assistance.
• Collaborating with other production team members – reviewing models for design coordination issues, answering questions, and troubleshooting issues.
• Have an understanding of engineering and architectural documentation and construction, including infrastructure.
