Job summary

STV, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior CAD Technician to join our Transportation Group in the Boston office. The technician will support CAD efforts and ensure compliance with CAD standards on meaningful projects, working in our Boston office.

Key responsibilities include setting up templates, enforcing standards, and producing drawings while collaborating with the team. Required 8+ years in transportation CAD/BIM and proficiency across AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, Revit, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with Transportation Agencies.
• Versatile with CAD/BIM software including AutoCAD, Civil3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, MicroStation, ProjectWise, OpenBridge, OpenBuildings, and Revit.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple projects under aggressive timelines.
• Strong teamwork skills with MassDOT, MBTA, and other transportation clients.

Responsibilities

• Setting up project templates and file structures compliant with CAD standards.
• Monitoring and enforcing project standards, organization, and modeling quality.
• Preparing drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphical representations of designs.
• Collaborating with the production team to review models and troubleshoot issues.
• Understanding engineering/architectural documentation and construction.
