Job summary

Tri-County Steel LLC (TCS) in Bedford, IN is seeking a Drafter IV to provide drafting support at NSWC Crane. The role focuses on cradle-to-grave engineering, creating 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum eight (8) years of drafting experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo, used with Windchill (PDM).
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5 (GD&T), MIL-STD-31000 drawing and TDP standards.
• Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) / 3D annotated models.
• Familiarity with military standards and DoD documentation.
• Must hold DoD Secret clearance; Interim Secret required to start.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, and Windchill.
• Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) in Windchill.
• Produce drawings for mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical hardware and interfaces.
• Support prototype fabrication and first article verification with shop-ready drawings.
• Manage drawing changes and configuration data across the product life cycle.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and CAD operators on design intent.
