Job summary

Tri-County Steel LLC (TCS) seeks an experienced Drafter to provide drafting and technical data support at NSWC Crane for Navy weapons systems and platform integration efforts. This cradle-to-grave environment covers concept and prototype through first article verification, TDP release, and life-cycle sustainment using Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum eight (8) years of drafting design experience (electrical and mechanical).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo with Windchill PDM.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and manufacturing/ISO procedures.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5 GD&T, MIL-STD-31000.
• Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) / 3D annotated models.
• Knowledge of CAD procedures and documentation standards.
• Must hold DoD Secret clearance; Interim Secret to start.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and Creo.
• Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) in Windchill (PDM).
• Produce detail, assembly, installation, and interface drawings for mech, electro-mech, and electrical hardware.
• Support prototype fabrication and first article efforts with shop-ready drawings.
• Process drawing changes (ECPs, NORs, revisions) and CM deliverables across the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the customer, engineers, technicians, and CAD operators; attend meetings.
• Maintain configuration management of tasking, files and correspondence; work independently or in a team.
• Guide and mentor other CAD operators and maintain timely decisions under pressure.
