TruBlue Technologies in Louisville, CO seeks a CAD Designer / Mechanical Designer to transform engineering concepts into manufacturing-ready CAD models and drawings. You will create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks, apply GD&T, and maintain BOMs with PDM/ECN processes.

Requires 5+ years in mechanical design, strong SolidWorks skills, and experience with machining, molding or sheet metal processes. On-site work with safety protocols is expected at our Louisville HQ.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate in Mechanical Design or related field; Bachelor’s degree a plus
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for consumer or industrial products
• Expertise in SolidWorks including part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings
• Working knowledge of GD&T and basic tolerance stack analysis
• Ability to perform hands-on assembly, disassembly, and evaluation of hardware
• Understanding of standard drafting practices: dimensioning, tolerancing, section and detail views
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal, forging
• Hand tool proficiency for prototype builds and fixture assembly
• Familiarity with metrology equipment (calipers, height gauge, micrometers)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Effective communication with engineers, machinists, and vendors
• Ability to work in a collaborative team
• Legal authority to work in the US without sponsorship

Responsabilités

• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks for new and existing products
• Apply GD&T per manufacturing processes to define functional tolerances and support stack-up analyses
• Generate and maintain BOMs and controlled documents using SolidWorks PDM and ECN process
• Build, fit-check, and evaluate 3D printed and rapid prototypes and production assemblies by hand
• Support First Article Inspections and identify design or drawing changes from hands-on evaluation
• Translate sketches, redlines, and design intent into production-ready CAD models and drawings
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and vendors to resolve fit, form, function issues
• Support assembly instructions (SOPs) and QC documents
• Collaborate with procurement on prototypes and vendor communication
• Occasional support of verification testing setups and test fixtures
