Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory, in the Engineering Services Division, seeks a Designer/Drafter to support design and drafting for facility systems across LANL campuses. You will create 2D/3D models, drawings, and layouts using high-level CAD tools, and participate in design reviews with engineers and stakeholders.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement in Los Alamos, NM, with opportunities to grow in advanced drafting standards, GD&T application, and cross-functional collaboration on

Qualifications

• Entry-level CAD drafting and PDM experience to produce models and drawings.
• Fundamental GD&T, drafting symbols, and design intent understanding.
• Basic grasp of mechanical/electro/mechanical drafting concepts.
• Familiarity with ASME/ANSI/AWS standards for fit and function.
• Ability to work in a team with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 2D/3D models, drawings, and layouts for facility systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on design concepts and layouts.
• Participate in design reviews and resolve interface issues across disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and safety requirements.
• Maintain safety and security as a core priority in all tasks.
