Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technologist to join the Design Engineer Group. You will transform customer concepts into detailed product definitions and drive critical components of national security projects with CAD tools and GD&T expertise.

Onsite work is required, and you will collaborate with CAD Designers and engineers to create innovative mechanical designs, perform dimensional analyses, and refine concepts for manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent.
• Experience using CAD software for 3D solid modeling and drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
• Active security clearance is desired.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and Create: design and modify detailed component and system definitions.
• Bring Concepts to Life: create 3D models and drawings of complex objects and systems.
• Define Products: transform concepts into detailed specifications for production.
• Collaborate with clients and teams to integrate requirements into designs.
• Harness CAD technology to develop precise mechanical designs and perform analyses.
• Adapt designs based on evolving requirements with RD engineers.
• Analyze product performance data to drive continuous improvement.
