Job summary

X Energy, LLC is seeking a CAD designer to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for reactor plant SSCs at the Gaithersburg, MD site. You will coordinate with responsible engineers, prepare manufacturing drawings, and manage CAD data within PLM and PDE environments, ensuring design integrity and documentation.

The role includes FOAK design support, DFM/DFA considerations, and collaboration with vendors while maintaining standards and process controls.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent with relevant drafting/CAD experience.
• Ten years CAD/3D drafter/ designer experience preferred, can be substituted by prior X-energy tenure.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for SSCs, equipment, layouts and P&IDs.
• Assess manufacturability and assembly considerations for designs.
• Maintain PLM data and ensure model compatibility across PDE/S3D.
• Lead small designer groups and mentor junior team members.
