Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Workers' Compensation Adjuster for the California team in a fully remote, exempt position. You will independently manage moderate to complex, high-value casualty claims, work with legal and technical experts, and lead strategic negotiations and litigation management.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of workers' compensation claims handling with an insurance carrier.
• Must possess or obtain and maintain appropriate state adjuster licenses and continuing education credits.
• Skilled in negotiating complex claims and developing strategies to influence outcomes on high-exposure cases.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage complex workflows and participate in project work.
• Provides exceptional, empathetic customer service and handles escalated claims with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage moderate to complex, high-value casualty claims with minimal supervision.
• Represent the company in claims litigation forums and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Set reserves, authorize payments, and make financial decisions within authority.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents; use analytics to identify trends and improve handling efficiency.
• Mentor junior claim handlers and contribute to training initiatives.
