You will work with legal counsel and technical experts, manage reserves and payments within authority, and mentor junior staff while ensuring regulatory compliance and professional client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years of workers compensation claims handling with an insurance carrier.
• Must possess or obtain state adjuster licenses and continuing education credits.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making on high-exposure cases including litigation.
• Clear communication skills in verbal and written formats.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage moderate to complex, high-value casualty claims with limited supervision.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and prepare reservation of rights and coverage letters.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and pursue favorable outcomes through negotiation and litigation management.
• Ensure regulatory and company standards compliance; maintain detailed records and reports.
• Set reserves, authorize payments within authority, and support reserving accuracy.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents; lead cross-functional meetings.
• Mentor junior claim handlers and contribute to best practices and training.
