Job summary

Textron Systems, part of Textron, seeks a Sr Buyer in Supply Chain to source complex mechanical assemblies, manage supplier relations, and lead cost and delivery improvements. You will work with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Quality to develop sourcing strategies, verify deliveries, and support proposal data.

This role requires a background in purchasing and strong communication skills, based in Slidell, LA.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or in progress in Supply Chain or related field.
• 6 years of purchasing or procurement experience for mechanical assemblies or machined parts.
• Strong planning, organization, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchase complex mechanical assemblies from suppliers at the lowest cost while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Conduct market research and price analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Solicit and analyze quotations to satisfy authorizing source requirements.
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries and expedite as needed.
• Negotiate adjustments from price analysis, discrepancies, or changes to orders.
• Verify delivery certifications and approve invoices.
• Maintain records for compliance and support cost data for proposals.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality to develop sourcing strategies.
• Mentor Buyers and provide guidance to customers and support functions.
