Job summary

Textron Systems, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks a senior procurement professional for its Supply Chain group. You will purchase mechanical assemblies, lead supplier negotiations, and analyze pricing to drive cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and delivery performance.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Quality teams and mentor junior Buyers to strengthen sourcing strategies and compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of purchasing or related procurement experience of mechanical assemblies, or machined parts.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office application skills with emphasis in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing complex mechanical assemblies from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with quality and reliability.
• Conduct market research and price analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Solicit and analyze quotations required to satisfy the authorizing source documentation.
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products for production.
• Negotiate adjustments from price analysis, discrepant materials, or cancellations.
• Obtain certifications of delivery and conduct item delivery validation; check and approve invoices.
• Develop and maintain records for compliance; support preparation of cost data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and develop sourcing strategies.
• Mentor and guide Buyers and support functions.

About This Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Purchasing complex mechanical assemblies from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
• Conduct market research and price analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Solicit and analyze quotations required to satisfy all the requirements of the authorizing source documentation.
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products to maintain production, following up on orders to expedite shipment and delivery as needed.
• Negotiate for any adjustments resulting from price analysis, discrepant materials, surplus or obsolete materials, contract terminations or a purchase order cancellation.
• Obtain certifications of delivery and conduct item delivery validation. Check and approve payment of invoices
• Develop and maintain necessary records and files for compliance purposes. Support preparation of proposal cost data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, etc.) to understand needs and develop sourcing strategies.
• Mentor and provide guidance to Buyers, customers and support functions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed abachelor’s degree in Supply Chainor a related field.
• 6+ years of purchasing or related procurement experience of mechanical assemblies, or machined parts required.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently
• Effective verbal and written communications skills
• Basic Microsoft Office application skills with emphasis in MS Excel
