Job summary

Textron Systems in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking an entry-level Associate Buyer to contribute from day one, supporting procurement of materials and supplier sourcing. You will study market trends, solicit quotations, and monitor orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field with strong organizational and communication skills, plus basic MS Excel abilities to support procurement and cost data preparation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office application skills with emphasis in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and urgency.
• Study market trends, interview vendors, and recommend sources of supply.
• Solicit and analyze quotations required to satisfy all requirements of source documentation.
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products and expedite when needed.
• Negotiate adjustments resulting from price analysis, discrepancies, or order changes.
• Obtain certifications of delivery and conduct item delivery validation; check and improve invoice payments.
