Job summary

Hatch in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead the purchasing lifecycle for large-scale EPCM projects, from planning through close-out. You will purchase materials and equipment, interfacing with Engineering, Expediting, Logistics, and Site Materials Control to ensure compliant, on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive EPCM project experience on capital projects.
• Experience purchasing project materials (tagged, engineered and bulk).
• Procurement training as well as supervisory and management experience.
• Experience drafting commercial terms and conditions.
• Knowledge of corporation, taxation, custom duties and importation laws.
• Strong Incoterms knowledge and freight forwarding/clearance familiarity.
• Understanding of procurement processes and governance.
• Experience with materials management and related activities.
• Experience with purchasing/contracting strategies.
• Knowledge of expediting, vendor quality surveillance, logistics and site material control.

Responsibilities

• Implement purchasing procedures and templates for the project.
• Lead the purchasing team toward defined objectives and deliverables.
• Manage the bidding process including technical queries and addenda.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and liaise with the client on terms.
• Coordinate with expediting, vendor quality surveillance, logistics and site material control.
• Close-out purchase orders in accordance with project procedures.
• Provide supervision, training and guidance to team members.
