The role emphasizes purchasing execution over strategic negotiations, requiring 3+ years in manufacturing purchasing, ERP/MRP experience, and collaboration with planning, engineering, quality, and sourcing teams.

Qualifications

• At least three years of purchasing experience supporting manufacturing or production.
• At least three years in an ERP/MRP purchasing environment.
• Experience with PO terms, delivery schedules, supplier follow-up.
• Ability to interpret technical specs and engineering drawings for purchasing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchase orders and blanket POs against approved requirements; maintain data, pricing, lead times, and terms.
• Interpret ERP/MRP demand signals, track acknowledgments, expedite or reschedule to prevent disruption.
• Resolve shortages and delivery issues through cross-functional coordination and data-driven problem solving.
• Purchase direct materials to engineering specs; communicate quality codes and flow-down requirements.
• Maintain procurement documentation per policies and government-contract requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, onboarding, and basic capability assessments.
• Plan and facilitate supplier meetings, reviews, and action logs.
• Discuss pricing and terms; escalate complex negotiations to management or strategic sourcing.
• Identify supplier/material lifecycle risks and mitigate actions.
