Job Description : Senior Buyer - Electronics
Summary of Job Purpose :
- Under the functional supervision of the Senior Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for electronic components used in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS). The Senior Buyer will work closely with suppliers and supporting other business functions as required to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and supply chain optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Strategic Sourcing : Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms for electronic components.
- Supplier Management : Develop strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring quality, cost, and timely delivery of components.
- Cost Optimization : Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities to drive cost savings and improve procurement efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with program management, engineering, and operation teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
- Risk Management : Proactively assess supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Support JIT initiative in a job order environment by minimizing raw material inventory levels through supplier partnership / agreements.
- Maintain ISO records for all purchasing procedures.
- Ensure and promote compliance of Company and Procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements :
- BS / BA in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably within electronics (PCBA's, Semiconductors etc.).
- Understand, interpret, and use MRP, EDI, BOM's and blueprints.
- Proficient with MS Office suite – advanced skills with MS Excel.
- Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail.
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to self-direct and take constructive action.
- Extremely high standards of excellence.
- Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving.
